On the Kharkiv front defending the Lyptsi axis is the 13th Operational Brigade of the Ukrainian national guard, "Khartiia", sent to the region to defend against a recent Russian offensive across the border in this area. The Russians had opened a new front, and have pushed up the the cities of Vovchansk and Lyptsi, as Kyiv scrambles to re-deploy troops to the region to hold them back from moving deeper into the Kharkiv region. We join two groups of the defenders, over two nights, re-deployed here to defend against this new threat, and get to know the ins and outs of how a mortar team operates during night missions on the front.
