LEADORE - Dive crews in water and searchers on horseback spent Friday in the hills near Timber Creek campground continuing to look for missing Idaho Falls toddler Deorr Kunz Jr.

Deorr's parents and other family members remained camped nearby hoping for any sign of the blonde two-year-old.

It has been one week since Deorr's parents reported him missing during a family camping trip. They said they left the child at their campsite with his great-grandfather and a friend of the great-grandfather.

"We decided we were gonna do a little exploring," Deorr Kunz Sr., Deorr's father, told EastIdahoNews.com Monday. "We weren’t more than 50 yards away...and when I come back up to get him, I yell over to grandpa, 'Where is little Deorr?'"

Kunz said Deorr's great-grandfather thought the child had been with his parents. Since then, there's been no sign of the toddler.

Searchers spent Friday tying pink ribbons on trees and bushes - marking areas that have been covered.

Crews continued to focus on the Stone Reservoir located above the campsite. Divers are on search boats and in the water that feeds into the creek running through the area where the Kunz's were camping.

Timber Creek campsite is about a quarter of a mile from the reservoir but it takes several minutes for an adult on foot as the trail is steep and rocky.

Investigators say they’ll continue to look for Deorr through the weekend. They stress volunteers are not needed as professionals and trained personnel will be out handling the advanced search efforts.
