YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIDAHO FALLS – A wanted felon is behind bars after an hour-long standoff in a peaceful Idaho Falls neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
Jeffrey Bowles, 32, was wanted on a felony probation violation after he pleaded guilty to a grand theft charge in February 2012.
Idaho Falls police say they received a tip Thursday that Bowles was inside a home on the 200 block of West 18th Street.
When officers arrived, Bowles refused to come out and, at one point, he tried to escape from the home outside a side window.
“He had actually gone up into the attic of the home,” Capt. Royce Clements of the Idaho Falls Police Department told EastIdahoNews.com. “We tried to negotiate him out. He refused until we threatened to use chemical agents to remove him.”
Bowles surrendered peacefully and was taken to the Bonneville County Jail.
