1:37Now PlayingIDAHO FALLS -- VO: Papa Tom’s has been serving handcrafted pizzas at its current location for 33 years, but founder Tom Mueller’s pizza genius started way before the parlor came about.
SOT: “He’s been in the business since ’64, the pizza business, and a lot of people will know him from the Gas Lamp and The Gay 90’s,” grandson and manager Kristopher Mueller says.
VO: Now Papa Tom’s is run by people who have watched his work in the kitchen for years… His family.
SOT: “It’s pretty neat, we’re three generations now. My grandfather started it and (now) his kids and grandkids are now running it, so it’s a pretty cool thing,” Mueller says.
VO: Mueller says they take pride in signature sauces, and the dough and meats are fresh and made in house.
SOT: "We don’t skimp on the toppings, we really load up a pizza, our sauce is second to none, it’s a homemade recipe that’s been in the family forever, our dough we roll and make fresh every single day,” Mueller says.
VO: Today they let us make our own pizza combining two specialty orders into one. The Red Baron, and the Chicken Bacon Ranch. The Red Baron is probably the more unusual of the two with sauerkraut as a topping.
STAND UP: We just got our order of which is half chicken bacon ranch, and half red baron. The red baron has sausage, pepperoni, sauerkraut, and tomatoes. Let’s give it a try. (bite) That’s a good combination!
VO: Customers say Papa Tom’s is known for their tasty Pizza, and fun atmosphere.
SOT: “They have the best pizza in town, they have great service. They treat you like family when you come here it’s a great atmosphere,” customer Amy Briggs said.
VO: And if you’re not a fan of sauerkraut, Papa Tom’s more tasty eats on their menu.
