1:13Now PlayingFREMONT COUNTY — An arrest warrant has been issued for the man who broke into a Salem home and stole underwear and other clothing from a teenagers bedroom.
Cody Polatis, 21, is wanted on one misdemeanor probation violation charge.
Polatis tells EastIdahoNews.com he missed a meeting with his probation officer and plans to turn himself in to the Fremont County Jail tonight.
Less than 24 hours ago, EastIdahoNews.com broke the story of Polatis, the so-called ‘Sunday Bandit,’ after several neighbors complained about his activity.
Polatis admitted to breaking into Kent Sanderson’s home last fall and stealing multiple pieces of clothing valued at over $1,300 from a teenage girls bedroom. Hidden camera video showed Polatis masturbated next to the girls bed.
As part of a plea agreement, Polatis pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor unlawful entry charge and a stalking charge.
Judge Gilman Gardner sentenced Polatis to 360 days in jail, but Gardner suspended all of the jail time except 10 days and placed him on probation.
Polatis admitted to violating probation last month when he broke into a Madison County home. Polatis told detectives he went into the home with the intention to masturbate and leave – but not take anything.
At a probation violation hearing June 6, Gardner sentenced Polatis to ten days in jail.
It’s unclear when Polatis will appear in court again.
