Thousands attend concert featuring Marie Osmond, David Archuleta, Alex Boye, Nashville Tribute Band

Three famous singers and a well-known band joined forces Saturday to inspire and testify of Jesus Christ.

Marie Osmond, David Archuleta, Alex Boyé and the Nashville Tribute Band performed before two packed audiences at the Ford Idaho Center Indoor Arena. The free, non-denominational musical celebration, “Redeemer,” was hosted by Christian Outreach Multimedia Events.

"With the violence and hate and what's been going on in the world, everything seems to be trying to divide. What I love about this concert is that it's come to do the total opposite. It's come to unite," Boye' told EastIdahoNews.com.

Over 17,000 people attended the afternoon and evening concerts. A food drive was held in conjunction with the event and more than 20,000 pounds of food was collected for area food banks.

Multiple Christian faiths have spent months organizing, publicizing and promoting the concert and food drive.

“It was heartwarming to see so many faiths coming together unified in their love for Jesus Christ,” said Leiann Snyder, a Care House volunteer. “I have a passion for seeing people from all walks of life coming together for the common good.”

This is the second year Osmond and the Nashville Tribute Band joined to perform "Redeemer" in the Treasure Valley.

“I am truly honored to be in Nampa again to inspire, through music, all Christian faiths to feel the love and joy that comes from following Jesus Christ,” Marie Osmond said.

The program also featured a choir of 60 youth and young adults from several area faith groups.

"Things are going on in the world around us that are heartbreaking," Brad Hull of the Nashville Tribute band said. "There are also some good things going on too and our goal is to spread some love around."
