1:49Now PlayingPOCATELLO — VO: Have you ever wanted to enter a sandwich shop and order all of the meats on the menu? At The Works Deli and Grill customers are doing just that.
SOT: “I usually get the (Boss’ Choice), or the Works,” Customer Gil Judkins says.
VO: Customers can order ‘The Works’ and get a sandwich that includes 12 meats, three cheeses, plus any desired vegetables or sauces. But, if their looking for something a little more traditional thy order off of the classic sandwiches menu.
SOT: “I usually (order) a grilled chicken or BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato), with avocado. I like it! They put a lot of bacon on the BLT’s, everything tastes really good,” Customer Jen Harden Brook says.
VO: Instead of using pre-cut meat slices, customers watch their meats and cheeses being sliced as they order.
SOT: “That’s one of our big things that people like. They can sit right here and watch it get made and watch everything we do,” Owner Geoff Ranere says.
VO: Owner Geoff Ranere says customers frequently order a club sandwich, The Works, or a Boss’ choice. Today sandwich maker Tyson, showed me how to make my own Boss’s choice and run it down the assembly line.
VO: Inside the Boss’ choice are four meats: ham, capicola (a spicy ham), peppered pastrami, and salami. On top of that, customers add their choice of cheese, and vegetables. It comes with a side of fries shaped liked little sliced pickles called cottage fries.
STAND UP: Today I got the Boss’s choice it has ham, capicola (a spicy ham), peppered pastrami, and salami. I love that the sandwich is stacked and has tons of meat. If you don’t like the cottage fries, there are 12 different sides of fries you can order at the works.
VO: Here at the Works, customers can also customize their sandwich, or get a works salad. Gil Judkins says along with great food he comes to the works because of the great atmosphere.
SOT: You walk in and the employee’s know you so they call you by name kind of like (the television series) ‘Cheers’, only called The Works. I come here because the food is good and they serve you in a quick manner,” Judkins says.
