IDAHO FALLS -- STAND UP – I’m Natalia Hepworth at Natural Grocers where everyone here is preparing to celebrate Organic Month let’s go see what they’ve got inside.

SOT: “For the month of September Natural Grocers is going to be highlighting organics,” body care specialist says, Chanelle McCoy says.

VO: September is National Organic Harvest Month, and Natural Grocers is having it's own celebration. Workers will be providing information to the community on organics, and also holding special promotions.

SOT: “We love providing health education to people, helping certain people understand why certain aspects of health are important,” vitamin supplement specialist, Chrystal McDowell says.

VO: Specialists at Natural Grocers say choosing organic food over conventional grocery items increases health and protects the body from unknown toxins.

SOT: “When you add hormones and different things to meats and vegetables and fruit, it becomes part of you. It impedes your ability to digest properly and different aspects of nutrition,” McCoy says. “What you feed your body is what you are, literally on a cellular level.”

STAND UP: I’m here with Dakota the produce manager and he’s got some organic fruit for me to try today.

SOT: “I’ve got some 100% organic blueberries for you. There’s going to be a lot larger than your regular blue berries and a lot of customers say they’re a lot sweeter too,” Dakota says.

STAND UP: I can taste the sweetness of the blueberry it’s very good. Another popular fruit are the bananas.

VO: Workers say anything in the produce section is going to be more flavorful, and nutritional than conventional produce items.

VO: Chrystal McDowell the vitamin supplements manager says the store not only has organic food, but vitamin supplements, body care products, and many things for your everyday health needs.

SOT: “We try to make the best quality stuff as affordable as possible to people. I know a lot of people are nervous about organics, and healthy products, and health for stores in general because they tend to be pricier. We try to make sure we have a median range for everyone,” McDowell says.

VO: Natural Grocers is excited to celebrate, and will be starting off their organic month with a free giveaway.

SOT: “Sep. 1 we will be offering a free organic apples, and a bag for the first 400 customers in the store. Throughout the month we will have different sales and different information that you can ask for,” McCoy says.
