REXBURG-- VO: It’s the place where people usually come to get a fizzy fill up.
BYTE: Sound of fizzy drinks being made.
VO: Great Scotts gas station is home to the famous Redneck Sup. But, since about two months ago customers have been filling up on a new breakfast treat.
SOT: “We have a lot of people come in that are super excited. We’ll see people walk in and they just go ‘Huh! What is that?” Manager Tad Despain says.
SOT: “I tried it for the first time yesterday, and I really liked it so I came back today for more,” Customer Beth Dummar says.
VO: What The Crepe? Is a new food stand showing people more than one way to eat a delicious thin pancake.
SOT: “We have three different options for our customers. They can get a sweet crepe, they can get a savory crepe, or they can build their own crepe,” Despain says.
VO: Manager Tad Despain says the name for the crepe stand is a pun inspired by local slang.
SOT: “So up here in Rexburg where there’s a lot of college students and a lot of slang going on, a lot of students will say things like ‘What the crap?’ Despair says.
VO: Crepes like the savory Bull Crepe with steak, peppers, mayo, and cheese, or the Peace, Love, and Crepes with fruit, Nutella, and whipped cream are some of most addicting choices.
SOT: “I personally had never tried a savory crepe until I worked here and I love them now more than the sweet crepes,” Despain says.
VO: Depain says the secret syrup with a plain crepe is another popular menu item.
SOT: “We also have something that’s really special called or secret syrup. It’s delicious and addicting, it’s kind of like a buttermilk syrup,” Despain says.
STAND UP: Wow I love the secret sauce! So tasty!
VO: Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can come in at anytime to satisfy your crepe cravings.
SOT: Crepes are really hard to make, and they’re a hassle to make at home, but they’re so delicious so it’s really nice that I don’t have to do all the work, and I can just come and get a yummy crepe,” Dummar says.
