East Idaho Eats: Mrs. Powell's Bakery and Deli

VO: It’s not just the ooey gooey-ness customers rave about, but the size.

SOT: “It’s just light and fluffy and the size— A lot of people comment what a big cinnamon roll it is,” Owner Brittany Foster says.

SOT: “They taste wonderful. They’re fresh, they seem to always be fresh, my family just really enjoys them,” Customer Kasey Arritt says.

VO: Mrs. Powell's Bakery and Deli has carried its legacy of tasty cinnamon rolls for over 30 years.

SOT: “Once you’ve had one, it’s just really good, and people come just for that, from everywhere,” Foster says.

STAND UP:

VO: From the original cinnamon roll recipe stems pastries like the cinnamon twists, or the caramel roll.

SOT: “We just bake it in our caramel mixture. It has all different kinds of nuts on it,” Foster says. “We turn it upside down so all that caramel goodness goes right all over the rolls. They’re super popular.”

VO: One of the owner’s favorite is the pudding cookie. She said the recipe comes from the lunch ladies of the elementary school she attended in St. Anthony, Parker-Egin Elementary.

SOT: “They used to make the best pudding cookie. That recipe, they actually shared it with my mom and we would make it at home,” Foster says.

VO: Along the tasty treats customers also come for the soups, salads, and sandwiches, but if you’re at Mrs. Powell’s for the first time, a gigantic cinnamon roll is a must.

SOT: “Once you’ve had one, it’s just really good, and people come just for that, from everywhere,” Foster says.
