IDAHO FALLS-- STAND UP — I’m Natalia Hepworth here in Idaho Falls where a bucket list wish is sending two former pilots sky high.

SOT: “I used to be a pilot back in the ‘50s and that’s a generation ago, but I’ve always loved to fly so I’m glad for this opportunity,” Malvern Wallace says.

VO: The Bucket Wishes Foundation and Avalon Home Health and Hospice organization, teamed up with The Gables of Shelley Assisted Living and Memory Care to grant the wishes of residents Malvern Wallace, and Selma VanDercreek.

82-year-old Wallace, and 85-year-old VanDercreek wanted to re-experience flight.

SOT: “About 5 months we’ve been working on getting our pilot, and the planes and everything set up for Malvern and Selma,” Bucket Wishes committee member Jessie Labra says.

VO: The pilot Colter Hansen was excited to give these two at least one more flight of a lifetime.

SOT: “I think Selma was a little nervous about getting back up in a plane, she flew for a lot of years, her husband was a pilot, her children are pilots,” Labra says.

VO: With a little bit of coaxing for VanDercreek, she and Wallace were sky high.

SOT: “It was wonderful, really beautiful,” Wallace says.

SOT: “It was very nice and the pilot was very nice,” VanDercreek says.

VO: The two were very grateful to have an experience they won’t soon forget.

SOT: Malvern could not get out of the car fast enough to get into that plane, he was so excited,” Labra says.
