27:07Now PlayingIn this edition of East Idaho Newsmakers, Nate Eaton speaks with Richard Ostler. Ostler is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who became an LGBTQ ally while serving as the bishop of a singles congregation in Salt Lake City.
Even though he was released as a bishop in 2016, he says he is on a mission to spread understanding of LGBTQ Latter-day Saints. He created a website called Listen, Love and Learn, launched a podcast and he travels the country speaking about how members of the LDS Church can be active in their faith while still showing love toward those who are not straight.
Ostler shared his message with over 200 people in Rexburg last Wednesday evening.
