A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.
Every day from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today we are surprising a wonderful mother named Kathleen.
She is a resilient and devoted woman facing extraordinary challenges. She has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and she is the sole caregiver for her son, who has autism. Her only source of income is disability benefits, which she uses to support her family and meet their needs.
Recently, Kathleen’s life has been upended by a series of hardships. After the passing of her mother, Kathleen had to move when her mother’s home was sold. With limited time and financial resources, she managed to purchase a small home for herself and her son. Unfortunately, after moving in, she discovered the house required extensive and urgent repairs.
The plumbing is severely compromised, frequently backing up, and the subfloor lacks structural integrity, causing significant safety risks. These issues have led to dangerous falls due to Kathleen’s cerebral palsy and difficulty maintaining balance.
Despite these challenges, Kathleen remains a dedicated and selfless mother. She works tirelessly to provide a safe and stable environment for her son.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to surprise Kathleen with a gift for Christmas. Check out the video in the player above.
