Local mall security guard removed from duty after assaulting woman in viral TikTok video

A security guard at the Grand Teton Mall was removed from duty after a viral video seemingly showed him assaulting a woman after a heated verbal exchange.

The TikTok video, which currently has over 400k views, shows a man in a yellow security guard uniform in an intense verbal argument with a woman, believed to be the person who posted the video, Alyssa Bratcher.

In the caption to the video, Bratcher writes that she and her girlfriend were at the mall on Saturday, taking photos, when a security guard identified only as “Hansen” stopped them. The man’s full name has not been identified.

In the video, the guard states, “You’re going to get banned,” before the woman begins questioning the mall’s photo policy.

The guard points out the fact that he is being recorded, and the woman responds that she doesn’t care, before the guard repeatedly shouts, “But you do care!”

“He told us we were going to get ‘banned’ when we were simply minding our own business and proceeded to curse and yell at us just for asking why we couldn’t take pictures at the mall,” says Bratcher in the caption to her video. “I’m not sure if it was an act of homophobia or simply just rage for no good reason. Unacceptable lash-out behavior for someone who shouldn’t have this position for a job.”

At one point, the guard also insults the woman, telling her, “Well, you’re taking video, actually, stupid.”

After a few seconds of silence as other customers walk by, the guard tells the woman that she and her girlfriend can leave, or they will get banned for “being rude.”

He then screams at the woman, “I’m telling you not to do it!’ before lunging closer and shoving her, and appearing to also try to smack the phone that was recording from another person’s hands. The original person who was recording jumps in and attempts to hold the guard back before the video ends.

According to the caption, other guards responded soon after and told Bratcher that the original guard was in the wrong, and the two women filed a report with the mall.

“I wanted to share and make this public for anyone who may have encountered him – he is unsafe and dangerous; hopefully, you won’t,” says Bratcher in the post.
