5:50Now PlayingEastIdahoNews.com is highlighting different careers, and today, I’m ‘Workin’ It’ at Bee Box Honey located in Rexburg with beekeeper, Steve Spencer.
Starting in 2021, Spencer and his family take care of over 300 hives around Madison County, cultivating and maintaining bees year-round.
With 2026 being his first year selling his honey, we traveled to Sugar City to see what it takes to raise bees in your backyard, literally.
While managing to avoid getting stung, it was an incredible experience to suit up and get to the bee’s knees of how these amazing critters make honey.
Thanks to Steve and to his son Porter for taking a sting to the ear and for taking us out to see the bees and the honey.
