They’re not protest marches. What we’ve seen in Western cities presents as pro-Palestine, but it’s deeper. When large parts of a country’s population openly support barbarism, unapologetically calling for violence against a peaceful, law-abiding minority with no consequences, that’s not political protest. That’s moral collapse.

Sometimes it’s disguised as anti-Israel resolutions that don’t even mention Hamas, or any jihadist group, or their human shields, or our hostages. And it can be seen in the silence, like refusing to say even one word about Hamas stealing aid and using it to control its civilians. Or about Hizb’Allah having its headquarters in the middle of Beirut and putting the people of Lebanon in danger. Or about the violence these groups use to terrorize and control everyday people in the Middle East, and increasingly also in Europe. These are all signs of a society losing its moral footing.

When the media shows half-truths, leaves out context, or simply invents narratives, it reflects the same breakdown. People in positions of influence end up siding with violent actors who present themselves as freedom fighters, while brutalizing anyone who disagrees with them, promoting hatred, and normalizing abuse.

This mindset has shaped much of the Middle East and parts of Africa into places defined by instability and suffering. It’s rooted in deflection and grievance. I’m a victim, so you owe me. I’m angry, so I can hurt you. I’m jealous, so I’ll destroy you. Then it gets dressed up as justice.

The warning for the West is that this mindset is spreading, across campuses, NGOs, politics, and media. It’s the same worldview that has led entire nations into chaos. The concern isn’t only about Israel. It’s about what happens next inside those societies.

History shows how quickly things can turn. Societies can get sick. Like a canary in a coal mine, the signal is there. Ignore it, blame the warning, and the underlying problem spreads.

Ideas move like a virus. Governments acted decisively to stop COVID. The argument here is that harmful ideologies require the same level of seriousness. What happened in Israel is framed as a preview of what could come. Universities risk becoming places of indoctrination, media becomes propaganda, and political systems begin to reflect those shifts.

There are also claims that freedoms are already eroding, including speech, and that future generations may be shaped by ideologies that present hatred as tolerance. At that point, reversing course becomes far more difficult.

The argument concludes that the real threat isn’t Israel, but larger ideological and geopolitical forces, including the Iranian regime and the Muslim Brotherhood, operating through influence networks. Over time, this influence can translate into political power, policy shifts, and social pressure that limits dissent.

The call is to recognize what’s happening and respond. Reclaim institutions, speak up, and accept that it won’t be easy. It will require courage, because the direction societies take now will shape what comes next.
