- The tomb is included because it is de jure considered Turkish sovereign soil. However once it was moved, this has been disputed by Syria.
- Some rebellions aren't shown because they began and ended before the end of the year.
- The borders of the early provinces are estimated in spots due to limited reliable information.
- Apparently despite Turkish troops still being stationed in Syria, they officially no longer "occupy" the territory as of 2026.
