YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThis brilliant technique of rhetorical questions is common to the Psalmist.
By it he is able to establish his subject.
Guide you to question if you are that man.
Such thoughts intrigue the reader to look deeper to discover what it means to be that man.
As all worth while things are, patiencenin the text will cause the glimmer of glory to shine through. David does not immediately tell you the definition is God fearing man, he rather intensifies the excitement his rhetorical technique has already begun.
He speaks of one of humanities constant desires and greatest needs. Something common to anyone who longs to make life an actual success and joy.
He tells us that God will literally instruct such a man in his life's decisions. Needless to say, this implies personal conscious communication with him.
Even at such an early point in his quest to woo the reader into the knowledge of God, his words cause the reader to look further and discover if his own heart could receive such a precious thing as divine sheparding.
The Spirit's pen is not finished with His enticement, still refusing to divulge what it actually is to fear the Lord and describing another wonderful privilege in the life of the one who chooses to fear the Lord.
"Prosperity"is His chosen word. An absolute meeting of every need not lacking anything.
Intresting that he refuses to limit it to times and seasons by using the words "abides in" he also rejects the common thought of material things alone by using the words "his soul."
What greater prosperity could there be than every internal longing soothed and satisfied by the God.
Rest seems to fall short to describe such a fullness.
In keeping with the divine nature of God the great Father of all, the blessing is generational. The man who fears the will have his children blessed by God's own hand.
If these techniques were not brilliant enough the Spirit inspired Psalmist modulates the text by masterfully unveiling what it actually is to fear the Lord together with the highest benefit of them all.
The intimate knowing of God.
Such a direct experience is said to be "for" the one who fears God. God Himself has reserved Himself for those who cherish Him enough to not add to Him I their lives. This secret unvieled glory is both the wonder of what is received and heart of all desire in the man who fears the Lord.
Intimate with God. Such a string of words seems unimaginable. For it secures personal communication and individual experience of very God Himself. Intimate? It can only point to loving solitude with God and God alone.
That is the beauty of the fear of the Lord.
NO OTHERS.
ONE.
HIM.
ONLY.
We could set our books down now and sigh in dreamy wonder of what such an experience and life could be.
Fellowship with God performs a work in the soul than no other thing can.
A revelation if you will. A revelation far beyond all the explanations of the wise. Deeper than the depths explored by multitudes of biblical expositors from all generations.
God Himself and His covenant!
We must believe, we cannot see it unless He shows it. We are w
