YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThis talk explores a radical new approach to childhood education based on Umweldt hacking. We explore the possibility of building a portal from the world of a child to the frontier of research using carefully curated objects and tools which radically compress the requirements needed to understand the modern world. This so-called WonderCabinet™ based system, currently being pioneered in the Speyer Legacy school in Manhattan is discussed as a possible model for education that puts a comparable emphasis on developing both innovation and expertise.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
