Die wet bepaal dat individue boetes of tronkstraf opgelê kan word as hulle hulself aan haatspraak of -misdade skuldig maak. Die definisie van haatspraak, soos voorgestel in die wetsontwerp, is egter so wyd, dat ’n belediging van iemand op grond van sy beroep tot drie jaar gevangenisstraf sal lei.
Die noodwendige gevolg van die wetsontwerp sal wees dat uitsoekerige vervolging deur die nasionale vervolgingsgesag toegepas sal word.
Rassisme moet beveg word, maar nie op die manier waarop die ANC dit wil doen nie.
