We need to tell our stories

Lex Libertas has today announced the launch of its international awareness campaign, Truth Be Told, aimed at amplifying the voices of people in South Africa who have witnessed or experienced the country’s growing political and social crisis.

The campaign follows recent international attention, including a video shown by U.S. President Donald Trump during a White House meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, highlighting the persecution of minority communities in South Africa. The video sparked controversy, with critics dismissing it as misinformation or even labeling it a “deepfake.” In response, Lex Libertas is taking action.

Lex Libertas will collect personal stories and testimonies and present them to stakeholders in South Africa, the United States, and international forums. These stories will also support global outreach efforts, including invitations to international podcasters and documentary filmmakers to engage with people who live in South Africa directly.

The campaign invites submissions especially related to:

- Farm attacks

- Racial discrimination and exclusion of minorities

- Threats to property rights

- The consequences of state collapse

Submissions are open to anyone who has a personal story to share on any of the abovementioned points.
