The Nhlambeni Inkhundla recruitment ended under a cloud of controversy, with the Inkhundla Council decrying loopholes that saw non-residents winning in the constituency.
Addressing journalists, General Sotja Dlamini distanced the army from the fallout, stressing that the identification process rests solely with the Inkhundla Council. “The army is not part of the identification process; that responsibility lies with the Inkhundla. Residents can only hold themselves accountable for the outcome,” he said. He further explained that once the council gives the green light on identification, there is no turning back as the recruitment exercise proceeds to its next stages.He concluded by urging the councils and Emabandla to come through to the identification process in the upcoming Tinkhundla Recruitments
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Manzi Zwane acknowledged the concerns and pledged to engage local Chiefs to address the loopholes going forward. He also appreciated the recruitment exercise as a necessary step despite the setbacks stressing his concerns over the winning of non residents.
