Lobamba Lomzadzala Member of Parliament Marwick Khumalo has fired back at Prime Minister Russell Dlamini, warning him against publicly pointing fingers at others over corruption.
Khumalo cautioned that the Prime Minister should be careful when making accusations, remarking that the tables could easily turn and that he himself might one day face serious allegations.
The veteran legislator also expressed surprise that the Prime Minister had been moving from one media house to another accusing him of bitterness after the cancellation of an international trip.
Khumalo dismissed that claim, saying that after more than 28 years in public office he no longer had any appetite for foreign travel.
He further suggested that the Prime Minister appeared to be taking matters too personally by assuming that he was an enemy.
The remarks follow recent comments in local media in which Dlamini accused certain cabinet members of corruption. The Prime Minister has previously complained about what he describes as a cabal operating within Parliament, with influence stretching into cabinet and other state institutions.
Swazi Bridge has previously reported that the Prime Minister suspects his Finance Minister, Neal Rijkenberg, of working in cohorts with Khumalo. The publication has also reported that Dlamini recently attempted to remove Information, Communication and Technology Minister Savannah Maziya from office amid the growing tensions within government.
The latest exchange signals deepening cracks within the political leadership as accusations and counter accusations continue to play out in public.
