MBABANE: Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, the Minister of Tinkhundla and Development has appealed to Parliament including the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to hold the Executive Arm of Government accountable.
Speaking in Parliament on Monday, Dlamini said as Cabinet Ministers, they cannot hold themselves accountable and therefore, Parliament must exercise its oversight authority.
The Tinkhundla and Development Minister who doubles as Nkwene Member of Parliament (MP) said, corruption has been institutionalized in Eswatini while warning that, failure to urgently act will collapse this country.
“I remember during the 2013-2018 term I was vocal about the Gege-Sicunusa Road but the question is; now that I am in Cabinet can I demand that the report be tabled?. Parliament must demand the report from us as Cabinet”, said the Tinkhundla Minister.
Sikhumbuzo Dlamini while serving as an ordinary MP was vocal about the over R500million Sicunusa-Gege Road, he “blames Parliament for failing to hold the Executive accountable”.
