He was there to attend a Bollywood film festival as a chief guest. Karanvir took to Twitter share his plight and wrote, "so bummed... waiting at #moscowairport coz my passport is a little damaged. They contemplating to deport me back to India. @IndEmbMoscowRus @IndEmbMoscow i wished you would have told me that prior to issuing me the visa. feeling bad for @IndianFilmsRus". Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Moscow was immediately came to Karanvir’s help and replied to his tweet. On the other hand, fans and friends of the actor from the entertainment world started extending their support to Karanvir but his wife Teejay expressed her anger on Indian authorities through a tweet.
