Samantha Ruth Prabhu opens up about her divorce with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and her husband of four years, actor Naga Chaitanya announced their separation in October. Theirs was a love marriage. After how her year turned out, the actress, who had refrained from speaking about her split from the actor, now says she won't plan her future and instead let it play out by itself. Hinting at her divorce, the actress said that she remembered ‘crumbling and being sad’ some time back, while referring to Sanya Malhotra’s description of a scene from one of her films, wherein her character cries and lets it all out for the first time after the death of her husband. On being asked what she expects from the new year, Samantha stated that with everything that has happened in her personal life this year, she has no expectations now. Opening up about how all her carefully laid out plans had crumbled, she said she is open to whatever the future has in store for her. If you recall, no sooner did the ex-couple announced their split, a certain section of social media users got busy blaming the actress for their divorce. From accusing her of having affairs to claiming she didn't want any kids, trolls attacked her left, right and centre, which, was tough on her. Speaking about such trolls, Samantha said that they will be disappointed if her views and actions don’t align with their views. Furthermore, talking about how she wished netizens would've taken a different route to let her know they were unhappy with the news of her split, the actress said that while she did not ask for ‘unconditional acceptance’, the disapproval could have been put across in a different way. Just to jog up your memory, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya had tied the knot in 2017 in Goa, after dating for several years.
