'Lata Mangeshkar had a smile on her face even in final moments’, reveals her doctor

Fortunate are those who pass away smilingly. On Sunday, India lost it’s Nightingale, an exceptional artist, an unmatched voice, a humble soul. Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar left the nation shocked, as the news of her demise unfolded on the morning of February 6, 2022. She breathed her last at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. As the nation continues to mourn for Lata didi, her doctor shared an interesting piece of information which will surely cheer her fans up from the unending sorrow. Dr Pratit Samdani from the Breach Candy Hospital, had been treating Lata ji for the last 3 years. Reportedly while talking about Lata Ji’s last moments, he said, ‘I will remember her smile for the rest of my life. Even in her final moments she had a smile on her face. Since the past few years her health was not good and hence she was not able to meet anyone much.’ The doctor also said, ‘Whenever Lata ji's health deteriorated, I would have treated her, but this time her condition was deteriorating day by day. Though we continued our efforts, eventually we could not save her.’ Talking about her humble nature, he said that Lata ji always used to say that ‘everyone should be looked after equally.’ He further added, ‘She was always ready to take whatever treatment was necessary for her and never refrained from it.’ While mourning her death the doctor said, ‘Ever since I have been treating her, Lata didi used to talk very little and didn't speak much. However, God had different plans for her and she left all of us forever.’
