When Maanayata Dutt reacted to the rumours about not being accepted by Sanjay Dutt's family

Sanjay Dutt and his wife Maanayata are celebrating 13 years of their happy married life today. Both tied the knot on February 11, 2008. And ever since their marriage, this beautiful couple has been together, supporting each other through thick and thin. As the couple is celebrating their marriage anniversary, we recently stumbled upon an old interview of Maanayata where she addressed the rumors that she has not found acceptance with Dutt’s family. Maanayata, in a conversation with a news agency, had said, 'I know people say these things, but what I want to say is that I have the right to live with my husband the way I want to. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a prostitute or a princess, a wife has certain rights in her husband’s home. I’m not a man living in a woman’s house. Sanju knows I’ve tried to do as much as possible in my capacity to find acceptance with his sisters. Beyond that, he wouldn’t like me to push myself to try any further. Neither would I.' Notably, there was a time when the Nanad-bahu fight came out in public. Sanjay Dutt's sister Priya Dutt went on a public platform to say all the mean and nasty things against Maanyata, stating that 'She manipulated my brother into this situation to further her own ambitions.' In an interview with a news portal, Priya said, 'She is not his wife. She is not even the daughter-in-law of Sunil and Nargis Dutt. She is just some woman who has trapped my brother.' However, Maanayata did not react to such comments and always maintained a dignified silence on it. Meanwhile, with time it seems both Maanayata and Priya Dutt have buried their hatchets and made peace with each other. In the year 2020, when Sanjay Dutt got diagnosed with cancer, both Priya Dutt and Maanayata were constantly by his side all through his treatment.
