Now, Disha's parents have written to President Ram Nath Kovind urging him to take action against Union Minister Narayan Rane and his son Nitesh Rane for allegedly politicizing their daughter's death. In the letter, her parents Vasanti Salian and Satish Salian wrote, 'Our life has gone haywire and becomes miserable because of our daughter's death and after that this blatant falsehood spread by Rane and others. Even after the registration of the offense, Union Minister Rane and his son have not stopped maligning our name. It seems we will not get justice till we are alive as their right to spread falsehood is more important than our fundamental right to life, right to privacy, and live with dignity.' While urging the president to take required action against the politician and his son, the letter further reads, 'We request you to issue directions to authorities to take appropriate steps so justice can be done, otherwise, we will end our lives.' Earlier, Disha Salian's mother Vasanti Salian also made an emotional appeal to politicians to refrain from maligning the name of her daughter by questioning the circumstances surrounding her death. She had said, 'I have lost my only daughter. These people are defaming us. They are dragging my daughter's name in their politics. This should stop. Let us live peacefully.' Last year, Mumbai Police closed the probe into the death of Salian as no evidence of any foul play emerged in the case. However, despite that, on March 24, during the budget session of Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly, Nitesh spoke about Disha's death and tweeted, 'Proof of Disha Salian's murder...will soon give pen drive to CBI through court...' His father Naraine Rane had also claimed that Disha Salian got murdered as she knew certain 'secrets' and raised doubt on her death probe. Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020 following which a few days later on June 14, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Mumbai. For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
