as posted by the channelDid you know Naseeruddin Shah was once stabbed by an actor while he was having dinner at a restaurant? In his book, Shah has narrated an incident from the year 1977, when he and actor Om Puri were sitting at a restaurant and another actor friend Jaspal entered the place. As Shah and Jaspal were not in talking terms due to some differences they 'ignored each other' and he sat on a table behind Naseer. The actor further wrote, 'After a while, I was reminded of his presence by what felt like a short sharp punch in the middle of my back. I started to rise, wearily preparing myself for another free-for-all. Before I could move, Om with a strangled cry lunged at something behind me. I turned to see Jaspal holding a small knife, its point dripping blood, his hand raised to strike again, and Om and two others grappling to subdue him.' After this Nasseruddin describes how he and Om Puri were not allowed to leave the restaurant and the police took them to Cooper hospital. The actor further stated that Jaspal later came to his house shook hands with him and termed the incident 'nothing personal' and a 'class war' without asking for an apology.
