Huma Qureshi's befitting answer to controversial question on 'protection of Muslim rights' in India

Apart from her impeccable acting skills, Huma Qureshi is also known for making unfiltered statements. The actress who is promoting her upcoming OTT film ‘Tarla’ was recently asked about her views on polarization in the film industry based on religion. In an interview with a news channel, Huma said ‘Aaj kal jab mai ye baatein sunti hu toh lagta hai ki ye baatein ho kyu rahi hai?’ When the interviewer told her that it is because of the question that was recently asked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in USA about the protection of Muslim rights in India, she further said ‘I never realised that I am Muslim and I am different. My father is running a restaurant named Saleem's in Kailash Colony (of Delhi) for 50 years. In my personal experience, I have never felt it. People might have felt it. Having said that I feel, questions should be asked and every government should answer.’ When this video surfaced on social media, several netizens lauded Huma for her answer in the comments section. A user wrote, ‘Well said’ while another one wrote, ‘End mein khel gayi Qureshi’. One of the netizens commented, ‘Huma ji ne sahi jawab diya’. Huma was last seen in ‘Monica, O My Darling’ wherein her performance was praised a lot by audience and critics alike.
