However, ahead of its release, the film was reviewed by the Central Board of Film Certification, which suggested several changes in the dialogues. According to reports, references to ‘Lok Sabha’ and mention of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee got chopped off. Apart from that, a dialogue in a lingerie shop scene was termed as ‘degrading women’ and got removed, whereas the word ‘bra’ was replaced with ‘item’. Not just that, reports also suggest that while Censor Board's scissors also ran through abusive words and slang used multiple times in the film, the name of the liquor brand 'Old Monk' was replaced with ‘Bold Monk’. Notably, the movie, said to be 2 hours and 48 minutes long, received the censor certificate on July 19th. With this movie, Karan Johar is all set to return to the Director's chair after a span of seven years. The film is a family drama that revolves around the love story of a journalist essayed by Alia, who hails from a well-to-do Bengali family with Ranveer, who played a role of a boy next door.
