YouTube Description
as posted by the channelNitin Desai was found hanging at his studio in Karjat in the wee hours of August 2. Police have shared that the autopsy report of the senior art director said that death was due to hanging. Now, as per the latest update, amidst the investigation, Raigad police have registered an offense against five persons, including officials of ECL Finance and Edelweiss Group, for the alleged abetment of Desai's suicide. An official has revealed that based on a complaint filed by the departed soul's wife, Neha Desai, an FIR was registered against them under the relevant sections. In her complaint, Neha alleged that her husband was facing repeated mental harassment in connection with the loans his company had taken and he committed suicide because of it. According to reports, Nitin Desai was under a lot of financial stress as his company was going bankrupt and defaulted on a Rs 252 crore loan which he took from ECL Finance of the Edelweiss Group. Reports also suggested that the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) filed a petition to start a 'corporate insolvency resolution process' against his company. In his career spanning over 30 years, Nitin Desai designed sets for the films like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Lagaan', 'Devdas', 'Jodhaa Akbar', and 'Khamoshi: The Musical' among others.
