In her career of over 30 years, she has worked with some of the most illustrious directors in Bollywood. However, there is one big name that somehow never got associated with Kajol, and that name is Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Not many know that the director actually wanted to cast her in his debut film ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’ to play the role of the deaf & mute girl Annie. Going by the reports in an entertainment portal, being a newcomer director it was difficult for SLB to get in touch with Kajol who was a big star at that time. However, he somehow managed to connect with the ‘Baazigar’ actress through her mother Tanuja and got a meeting fixed with her at a hotel in the interiors of Gujarat where she was shooting. Reportedly, Bhansali travelled all the way from Mumbai by a plane, train and then a bus, and reached on time to meet Kajol so that he could narrate the story to her. Once he reached, Kajol asked him to wait in the hotel lobby for ’some time’, which eventually led to 8 hours of him patiently waiting for her.
