Vivek Agnihotri calls Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' 'very superficial'

Vivek Agnihotri recently reacted to the massive success of Shah Rukh Khan's recent films like 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' and called it 'superficial.' 'The Kashmir Files' director, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, without naming SRK's films, said, 'I think his recent films are very superficial. He can do far better than that.' When asked specifically if he was referring to 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan', Agnihotri added, 'Haan jo bhi aai hai unke films. Those that I have watched, I found them very superficial. They are okay at the level of an action film but to present them as a standard of filmmaking and that this is the end of show business, I don’t agree with that. Then I think it’s a psycho frenzy. I have a problem with that.' Notably, before the release of 'Jawan', the director was all in praise for its trailer and said, 'Adbhut. Mind blowing. Blockbuster written all over it.' Not just that, he also expressed his failure to get his hands on the film's tickets, despite his best efforts. He wrote, 'FDFS. FDFS. FDFS. But where are the tickets, yaar. SRK se bol ke dila do please.' Meanwhile, Shah Rukh's action-packed film, now in its third week, is giving stiff competition to the new releases, which includes Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Vaccine War.'
