The actor was attending an event organised by the Army Wives Welfare Association in Pune, where he talked about his 'soulful' performance in Vivek Agnihotri's movie saying he did not need to 'fake' his emotions while playing a Kashmiri pandit in the movie. He said, 'My role in Kashmir Files was soulful as I did not have to depend on acting. I did not have to fake my emotions. I try to bring out the truth in my emotions as some roles do not require honesty of that level because it requires craft.' However the veteran actor added that everyone who got the award truly deserved it.
