Deepfake video controversy: Rashmika Mandanna responds to Vijay Deverakonda’s reaction

Rashmika Mandanna’s viral deepfake video has been the talk of the town for the past few days. The controversy has started an important discussion about the misuse of technology and various celebrities pitched in their views, including Rashmika’s rumoured boyfriend Vijay Deverakonda. Now in the latest, the actress has responded to Vijay’s reaction on the controversy of her viral morphed video. That’s right! Taking to her Instagram Stories, Rashmika reposted the ‘Liger’ actor’s story and wrote ‘Agreed completely…’ Notably, Vijay had shared a news report about Rashmika’s deepfake video which stated that the government has decided to take down all the deepfake videos on social media platforms as ‘they harm women more’. Sharing the article, Vijay had penned ‘Extremely important steps for the future. This shouldn't happen to anyone. Also, an efficient accessible cyber wing for quick crackdowns and punishment will make people more secure.’ Rashmika & Vijay have worked together in films like ’Geetha Govindam’ and ‘Dear Comrade’, and are rumoured to be dating each other for a while. However, neither of the two have officially confirmed to their dating rumours. To throw some light on Rashmika’s controversy, her deepfake video recently went viral on the internet and started a much-needed discussion on the Artificial Intelligence and its potential consequences in the future. The fake viral video showed the actress entering an elevator dressed in a black body-hugging yoga suit and smiling for the camera. Notably, the original video features social media influencer Zara Patel whose face was morphed into Rashmika’s.
