3:39Now PlayingAfter receiving massive backlash from fans, Abdul Razzaq has apologised to Aishwarya Rai for his comments at a recent event in Pakistan. The former cricketer spoke about Pakistan Cricket Team’s bad performance in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 when he made a remark on the ‘Dhoom 2’ actress. A video of his statement went viral on the internet and several netizens criticised him for his ‘shameful’ and ‘disrespectful’ comments against Aishwarya.
Razzaq’s comment received severe criticism and trolling from fans of both the nations, India and Pakistan. Former Pakistani Bowler Shoaib Akhtar also called out his statement by tweeting, ‘I highly condemn the inappropriate joke/comparison made by Razzaq. No woman should be disrespected like this. People seated beside him should have raised their voice right away rather than laughing & clapping.’ Notably, Abdul Razzaq was accompanied by former Pakistani cricketers like Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Kamran Akmal etc on stage. The former all-rounder has now recorded a video apology for Aishwarya which was posted on the micro-blogging site X, previously known as Twitter.
