3:18Now PlayingThe Delhi High Court will reportedly hear a plea filed by Sushant Singh Rajput's father against a film, allegedly based on the late actor's life. The film titled ‘Nyay: The Justice’ is allegedly based on Sushant’s life journey and untimely death. According to reports, the court will hear the plea on February 12 next year and has given time to all the parties involved to file replies to the notices issued to them. Reports further stated that the court was reportedly informed by Sushant’s father's counsel that four respondents are being represented by their counsel, while notices have been served to others in the case. The plea was reportedly filed against an earlier order by the Delhi High Court that refused to injunct the streaming of the film. The order was challenged by the petitioner and the court issued a notice and sought a response from the filmmakers. At a recent hearing, SSR’s father’ counsel told the court that the impugned order says that he has his own right to privacy, but that has not been dealt with. Notably, a single-judge bench of the Delhi High Court had dismissed an application filed by the ‘Kai Po Che’ actor’s father in July. As per reports, the court had said that an injunction cannot be sought as the film had already been released on a platform and must have been seen by thousands of people. The court also said that the relief sought by Sushant's father, including rights of privacy, publicity and personality vested in the late actor, ‘died with the death of the late actor, and are not heritable’. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020.For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
