Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, Rekha recently wrote ‘If India wins the World Cup, I will streak on Visakhapatnam beach.’ Her post has garnered a lot of attention on the social media platform as netizens have trolling her and calling it a ‘publicity stunt’. A user wrote, ‘Shame on you’, whereas another one wrote ‘Its not our culture’. One of the netizens commented, ‘In 2011, Poonam Pandey says also same thing. Because it's for publicity.’ However, Rekha has reportedly clarified to the backlash by saying that her primary intention was to convey love and admiration for Team India, while vehemently denying any personal motives. The actress is known for her work in films like ‘Kalaya Tasmai Namah’, ‘Mangalyam’, ‘Damini Villa’ among others. Meanwhile, Indian Cricket Team has had a stellar World Cup so far winning 10 matches in a row. It is worth noting that the Rohit Sharma-led side is the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far. India will be facing Australia in the final game on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The team will be looking at repeating history of 2011 by winning the World Cup again on our home soil.
