Exposing the Truth! Sara Tendulkar's anger over deepfake photos with Shubhman Gill and fake accounts

Sara Tendulkar recently took to her Instagram Stories to warn her followers about her fake accounts and deepfake photos on X, formerly known as Twitter. Penning a statement, the star daughter wrote ‘Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality. A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have obviously been created with an intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them. Entertainment should never come at the expense of the truth. Let's encourage communication that’s based on trust and reality.’ Notably, Bollywood celebrities like Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif and Kajol have also become targets of deepfakes recently. Rashmika’s deepfake video went viral and started a much-needed discussion on Artificial Intelligence and its potential consequences in the future. The morphed viral video showed Rashmika entering an elevator dressed in a black body-hugging yoga suit and smiling for the camera. It is worth noting that the original video features social media influencer Zara Patel whose face was edited into Rashmika’s. Soon after, Katrina Kaif and Kajol also became victims of deepfakes on the internet. Meanwhile, Sara Tendulkar has also been making headlines for her rumoured relationship with Indian cricketer Shubman Gill.
