Karishma Tanna's husband and actor Samir Kochhar file an FIR after being cheated of Rs 1.3 cr

Karishma Tanna’s husband Varun Bangera and TV presenter Samir Kochhar have reportedly filed a complaint against a couple for allegedly cheating them of Rs 1.3 crore in a real estate deal. According to reports, Samir in his complaint claimed that Pronit Nath and Amisha Nath pretended to sell them apartments and deceived him of Rs 58.5 lakh and his friend Varun of Rs 44.66 lakh. The case, filed on October 21, 2023, involves charges under sections 409 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating and dishonesty), and 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. Reports further stated that Samir and Varun were on a property lookout when they came across the Naths who planned to construct a four-floor building in Pali Village, Bandra West, intending to sell it later. Subsequently, the duo decided to buy a flat each in the yet-to-be-constructed building and also paid token amounts. Notably, the Naths had assured them that the land was free of any loans, and the title was clear. However, Samir and Varun were taken aback when they discovered that the property they intended to purchase had a loan against it, as Nath had mortgaged the land with a financial company. Later on, the situation took an unexpected turn when Nath informed Samir and Varun via WhatsApp messages that they had decided not to sell the property and intended to retain it for themselves. Currently, investigation is underway and there is a restraining order issued against the Naths preventing them from selling the flat to a third party.
