Breaking the silence: Archana Puran Singh's struggle with sexism in the entertainment industry

Archana Puran Singh, a prominent actress and television presenter, recently shed light on her personal experiences with sexism in the entertainment industry. In an interview with Free Press Journal, the actress revealed that though she did not face any sexism in the industry, she has seen a change in recent years. 'Strangely, I have never felt that men and women were treated differently in our industry. But of late, I have been feeling that there is a difference between women and men in the workplace', said the actress. Further, while calling herself 'determined' and 'fierce', the 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' actress mentioned, 'All those years when I was struggling to make a name, I never felt it, possibly, because I was so determined and fierce that people were like, 'Don't take panga with this woman'. She added, 'I think I had to be fierce because I was battling with the sexism that exists in the industry and every workplace. I am not blind to it but I am going to fight it, not aggressively but very firmly, and will not accept it. I am not going to make a hue and cry about it, I am just not going to take it.' The veteran actress also mentioned that she got 'a lot of sympathy for the average women, who are struggling to make their place' and urged them not to take any sort of 'nonsense' from their male bosses.
