When Yash Chopra scolded Rani Mukerji in front of everyone on the set of ‘Veer Zaara’

Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji who have worked together in several romantic films are known for their intense on-screen chemistry. However, there was one movie wherein the two actors were not paired opposite each other as lovers. And that film was the Yash Chopra-directorial 2004-release ‘Veer Zaara’. In the iconic love story, Shah Rukh as Veer was paired opposite Preity Zinta as Zaara, whereas Rani played the supporting role of a lawyer who has a huge age difference with SRK’s character when they meet in the film. Their relationship was almost shown as that of a father and daughter. And according to Rani’s revelation on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ in the past, it was difficult for the duo to play those characters opposite each other. The actress had also revealed that Yash Chopra once scolded Rani on the set in front of everyone because she kept laughing on Shah Rukh’s white hair every time she’d see him. Seeing Rani, SRK would also end up laughing and this kept happening again and again which made Chopra lose his cool. After this incident, their next shot was perfect and everyone was impressed by their performances, recalled Rani. ‘Veer Zaara’ was a big hit across the globe and it earned around Rs 100 crore worldwide. Apart from this film, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji were seen opposite each other in films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Chalte Chalte’ and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’.
