3:36Now PlayingIn a remarkable display of courage and determination, the rescue team successfully evacuated all 41 trapped workers from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi after 17 days of effort. As soon as the workers emerged from the tunnel, surrounded by their drilling equipment, the nation rejoiced at their safe return. Many B-town celebs also took to their social media handles to express their happiness and salute the rescue team for their incredible work. Taking to his X account, formerly known as Twitter, Akshay Kumar dropped a photo of a rescue team member inside a tunnel and wrote, 'Am completely overwhelmed with happiness and relief to know of the rescue of 41 trapped men. A big salute to every member of the rescue team. Kamaal kar diya. This is a new India and we all feel so proud. Jai Hind.' Abhishek Bachchan penned, 'A huge debt of gratitude and an even bigger salute to all the rescue workers and all the agencies that worked tirelessly to rescue our 41 workers trapped in the Uttarkashi Silkyara tunnel. Jai Hind!' Veteran actor Jackie Shroff also posted a picture of the rescue team holding the Indian flag and said, 'All 41 workers rescued from the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi. Kudos to the 22 agencies that worked day and night for the rescue mission, including NDRF, BRO, Indian Army, Indian Air Force, NHIDCL, SJVNL, THFCL, RVNL, ONGC, Coal India, and others.' Nimrat Kaur wrote, 'Huge congratulations and salute to the remarkable work done across agencies - NDRF, army, engineers, rat hole miners for their relentless efforts to rescue all the trapped workers. So much relief and cheer finally with God’s grace Bravo!!!' Riteish Deshmukh also shared glimpses of the operation and lauded the rescue team. The under-construction Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district collapsed on November 12 after which 41 workers got trapped inside it. For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
