YouTube Description
as posted by the channelAn objectionable post from Congress leader Supriya Shrinate allegedly targeting actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has sparked controversy. BJP leaders are demanding action against Supriya from her party, while The National Commission for Women has urged the Election Commission of India to take 'strict' action against the two Congress leaders; Supriya Shrinate and HS Ahir, for allegedly posting derogatory remarks about the 'Queen' actress. After the controversy erupted and Supriya Shrinate began trending online, the Congress leader took to her social media to post a clarification, claiming that the controversial social media post, which has since been taken down, was made by someone who had access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts. The post, shared on Supriya Shrinate's official Meta account, was made a day after the BJP fielded Kangana Ranaut from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi. Ranaut responded with a lengthy note addressed to Supriya, stating, 'In the last 20 years of my career as an artist, I have portrayed all kinds of women. From a naive girl in Queen to a seductive spy in Dhaakad, from a goddess in Manikarnika to a demon in Chandramukhi, from a prostitute in Rajjo to a revolutionary leader in Thalaivii. We must liberate our daughters from the shackles of prejudice; we must rise above the objectification of their bodies; and above all, we must refrain from using sex workers' challenging lives or circumstances as some kind of abuse or slur... every woman deserves her dignity.' Many BJP leaders took to social media to condemn the Congress leaders. While, former Himachal CM Jairam Thakur, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, and BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla criticised Supriya over her post and demanded immediate action against her.
