After Elvish Yadav's arrest and subsequent release on bail in snake venom case, Munawar Faruqui recently ended up getting detained in a hookah parlour raid done by Mumbai police. Reports indicate that Munawar, a stand-up comedian and the winner of 'Bigg Boss' 17, was among 14 individuals apprehended by law enforcement in the Fort area. The police disclosed that the hookah parlour was operating illegally. According to a news agency, the Mumbai police stated, 'Munawar Faruqui and 13 others were detained and a case has been registered against them in a hookah bar raid in the Fort area last night. All accused were released after questioning.' This is not Munawar's first encounter with the law. In 2021, he spent over a month in Indore central jail on charges of allegedly hurting religious sentiments during a comedy performance. Faruqui was granted bail approximately a month after his initial arrest.
