The White House announced a new deal that would give the United States majority control over TikTok’s American board, with six out of seven seats held by U.S. citizens. The agreement, part of ongoing negotiations with China, aims to separate TikTok’s U.S. operations from its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. Oracle and other American investors are expected to take major roles in oversight. While final approval is pending, officials say the deal is close to being signed.
