The Queen Mother of Thailand, Queen Sirikit, has died at the age of 93, as confirmed by the Royal Household Bureau. Queen Sirikit was the mother of King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X) and widow of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. She had been receiving treatment for a blood infection since October 17, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Thousands have gathered on the streets of Bangkok as the royal motorcade makes its way to the Grand Palace for religious rites.
