President Biden announced last week that he would be scrapping the corporate tax increase part of his infrastructure plan, even though this was a vital funding mechanism for the legislation. He did this to appeal to Republicans and moderate Democrats, but all he ended up doing was pissing off everyone. Farron Cousins explains why this strategy could backfire enormously on Democrats if Biden doesn't snap out of it.

Late last week, Joe Biden unveiled his new and improved infrastructure package that was supposed to be a compromise, you know, something to throw out there to get bipartisan support so we can get the dang thing passed. And what he did was he cut the proposal to raise corporate taxes to 28%,

Which was

A vital funding mechanism for the legislation. So if we don't have that to pay for it, um, you'd better believe the cuts are gonna come

From other places. And it's most likely going to be places that help those who actually need the assistance, because that's typically what happens.

Joe Biden has proposed things like that and is passed,

Uh, during time as a us

Senator. So it's not out of the realm of possibility to think that instead of cutting corporate tax or raising corporate taxes, we'll end up cutting social safety net programs to pay for infrastructure. But either way, the corporate tax hike is out. That's not happening. So there you go. You go Republicans and moderate Democrats like Joe Manchin and Kirsten cinema. Now you have to support the legislation because you were all against those things. So how many of those people have come out and said, now I support this legislation because they took out the one thing I didn't like

None, none, none of them,

Joe Manchin still says, he's not going to support it unless it has bipartisan support

Because that's apparently something

He cares about. Even though the public says we don't care. The majority of Americans want this piece of legislation to pass. Even without bipartisan, uh, ship. They, they don't care for public and supported or not. And by the way, that includes Republican voters. Don't care if there's bipartisanship on this legislation, they just want it to pass. So why in the hell is Joe, Biden's still doing this, not going to get Republicans to side with you on this, no matter what you do, even if you included a tax cut for corporations down to 0%, they still wouldn't support the legislation because it would give you a legislative win and they have to do everything they can. As Mitch McConnell said on camera, to make sure that you're not successful and that they obstruct your agenda at every turn. There's nothing you can do. So why the hell

Are you even trying? If you're trying

To say that this is just a method to get mansion and cinema on board with it to hell, with it to hell with them. And if you keep compromising, what you're going to do is off everybody because you could have just off mansion and cinema. You could go out there and use the bully pulpit every single day to shame them into supporting this legislation, to call them out for crying for bipartisanship. Even though the polls show the public, doesn't give a about it. You could do that. it be a statesman aggressive with this. This is legislation that this country desperately

Needs. And at

Every given opportunity, you're cutting, cutting, cutting, cutting it. And you're still not getting the support that you need to pass

It. This is ridiculous.

And if this is indicative of what we're going to see from the next few years of Joe Biden and get ready for something worse than Trump to win the 20, 24 election and Democrats can go ahead and kiss goodbye. Their majorities in the house and Senate in 2022, that is what is going to happen. If Biden stands strong, if he goes out there uses the powers that he has held like Donald Trump, did you get off at these individuals? What do you do? You go in the media, you go on Twitter, you issue a statement. You give a press conference and you call them out and you watch how fast they fall in line. That is what the public

Wants. And you're cutting your own great proposals at your own danger, because this is going to cost you. And it's

Likely going to cost the democratic party, the house, the Senate, and then two years after that, the white house, all because you wanted to make everybody happy, just like Obama did, but instead you just end up everybody off, not a smart strategy. So knock it off before it's too late.
